Activities

The GDP is undertaking a variety of activities to develop and advance the use of generative dialogic processes on a global scale.

Peer Learning

The GDP's peer learning activities explore the question: What is generative dialogue? Peer learning among GDP Community members is intended to generate greater awareness of how the principles of generative dialogue can be used to effect positive societal change.

E-dialogues

In June, July, and September, 2006, the GDP will host three “E-dialogues on Dialogue,” to explore challenges and opportunities in the use of dialogue to bring about societal change. Four organizations: the GDP, the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD); the Division for Social Policy and Development of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) ; the Democratic Dialogue Project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are sponsoring the E-dialogues. The E-dialogues will provide a unique opportunity for participating practitioners to establish connections with peers across the diverse and widely dispersed networks represented by the four sponsoring organizations.

Action Research

The GDP’s action research programme works with partner organizations to develop and implement multi-stakeholder change strategies to address complex global challenges. Rather than just traditional research or consulting, through its action research activities GDP offers partners the capacity to access the best of both traditions.
